Pholourie with Mild Tamarind Sauce

Pholourie

2 cups of ground split peas
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. Turmeric Powder
2 tsp. baking Powder
¼ cup flour
Pepper to taste
1 cup or more water
1 cup oil for deep-frying
1 tbsp. vegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

1. Mix ground split ground peas, garlic, turmeric, baking powder, flour, salt and pepper
2. Add enough water to make a thick batter
3. Heat oil in a heavy pot
4. Drop batter by the teaspoonful and fry until golden brown and drain well
